This is the first place Dad every caught a lot of fish. Before this he had caught some trout and eels on the River Lee but when he went fishing with Uncle Pearse here they caught more than 20 mackerel. He said they made fish-gloves to get them home - they put one finger through the gills of each fish and wore them home like gloves - blood and guts dripping down their arms.
